Mortise and tenon joinery is my preferred method for attaching tables legs to their aprons. This beefy Mahogany leg shows an open ended mortise and tenon joint, reinforced with a corner brace. In addition, the tenons on this joint are pegged for added strength. Tenon pegging is quite common on tables which will undergo heavy usage.
